Churchill Jr. High School recently launched a Writing Club to produce a school newspaper. The student members voted last week to name the paper "The Churchill Post" after rejecting other possibilities including "The Churchill Times" and "Charger Times." The group decided "Charger Times" sounded too much like Charger Time, when students spend time during the school day to read or do homework.
The club meets Wednesdays after school in Room 206. All are welcome, including writers, photographers and artists.
Student journalists are learning how to interview people, how to write news, entertainment and sports stories and opinion pieces. Their work will be published online.
The Club also welcomes students who want to write fiction and poetry.
